The tragic story of little Rong Rong:

Rong Rong was born in November 1999. Her father Zou Songtao died in police custody on November 3, 2000. He was only 28 years old. At the time of his death, Rong Rong was only 11 months old. Rong Rong¡¯s mother Zhang Yunhe was forced to leave home and go into hiding in May of 2001 after she was discovered while distributing truth-clarification material and faced impending arrest. There are reports that she has been detained at the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao. But to this day, no one can verify here whereabouts or whether she is still alive or not. Rong Rong now lives with her grandparents. Her grandmother couldn¡¯t bear the pain of losing her son-in-law and the separation from her daughter. She died in her 60s, in August 2001. Rong Rong lost three family members whom she loved most: her dad, her mom, and her grandma. When little Rong Rong misses her parents, she will stand on a stool to reach the box on the table that contains her father¡¯s cremated ashes and kiss the box.
